Meet the Partners Behind the Platform
Mecca was founded by engineers and systems thinkers who believed in doing things differently—building ventures from within and funding innovation where traditional capital falls short. Today, they lead Mecca Capital: a platform to transform technical insight into climate-era infrastructure companies.
-
George J. Mitri
Founder & Managing Partner, Mecca Capital
George leads Mecca Capital’s strategic direction, leveraging over a decade of deep-tech engineering, government-funded R&D, and venture formation. As the founding architect behind Mecca’s evolution from an engineering firm into a climate venture platform, George has spearheaded efforts across SBIR programs, public-private pilots, and the creation of scalable ventures such as REACT and 2DaLoop. His work bridges technical innovation with capital deployment, ensuring breakthrough ideas don’t just get built—they get funded, scaled, and sustained.

Miguel brings a unique blend of systems thinking, robotics expertise, and operational execution to Mecca Capital’s portfolio strategy. As a co-founder, he has played a critical role in translating R&D into deployable ventures—building Mecca’s infrastructure for automation, integration, and venture incubation. Miguel now focuses on overseeing investment operations, including technical diligence, deployment logistics, and partnership readiness for emerging climate and infrastructure technologies.

With expertise in NIST 800-171, CMMC, and critical infrastructure protocols, he ensures every venture we support is audit-ready and built to scale securely. Mitchell has been instrumental in developing Mecca’s trusted reputation with federal partners and positioning our portfolio companies to meet the growing demands of clean tech compliance and secure digital infrastructure.
Let’s Compare Notes.
At Mecca, we’ve been in the trenches—writing proposals, closing funding gaps, standing up infrastructure, and learning what works (and what doesn’t) along the way. From navigating multi-administration funding cycles to launching ventures like REACT and 2DaLoop, our path has been anything but linear.
We’d love to share what we’ve learned—and hear what you’re building.
Whether you’re exploring your first SBIR, validating a technical concept, or scaling a climate venture—we’re here to collaborate, advise, or help you avoid the mistakes we’ve already made.
